Dwarka Expressway all set to be functional from March 2018

The much awaited 8-lane Dwarka Expressway, an alternative route to NH-8 connecting Gurgaon to Delhi, is ready to be functional by March 2018. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had been given the contract of developing the Dwarka Expressway as an alternative linear access to the NH8, and the construction has been on the verge of completion despite a few hiccup along the way, leading to delays.

It is noted that though India has one of the most efficiently webbed networks of highways, the density of expressways is relatively low. And with the daily growing population of vehicles on the road, expressways like Dwarka is high in demand. It will lead to exponential growth in the surrounding areas, and all activities such as residential & commercial will get a catalystic shot in the arm.

The referredexpressway is scheduled to be completed by March 2018 and its promising features has already become the talk of the country. Firstly, it is an ambitious project of the Indian government and it is spending a huge amount of money for its construction being shared by various agencies such as the Central Government, State Govt of Haryana, Railways, & NHAI. Besides this, the expressway is supposed to clear away a large amount of traffic congestion from NH8 due to its speedy connectivity from Gurgaon to the T3 International Airport and Delhi. The plan of the infrastructure also proposes the building of a 4km tunnel right from the metro station at Sector 21 of Dwarka to terminal T3 of Indira Gandhi International airport in order to divert the trail of airport vehicles from Gurgaon, Dwarka, west and north-west Delhi.

Dwarka Expressway already intersects Patauri Road, which is a State Highway, and in itselft being ugraded up to Nataional Highway Status. The intersection point will become a busy commercial junction and the areas nearby shall recevie a major developmental boost.

The cloverleaf flyover at the end of the 22km expressway in Kherki Duala is still under construction, and until its completion, the traffic shall be channeled into it by a U-turn from the nearest flyover. While on the other side the traffic shall be redirected towards NH 8 from Bharthal Chowk and moving along Urban Extension Road II and finally merging with the highway near Shiv Murti in Delhi.

The Metro Rail is also having connectivity from both ends, however the exact plans & Detailed Project Report for Phase 4 & 5 of the DMRC plans are yet to be finalized.

The construction of the expressway has also grabbed the attention of hundreds of real estate agents of the country, who were waiting for a golden opportunity to build their projects along such an efficient infrastructure. Until the proposed erection of the expressway, the road connectivity of the area was extremely poor for which the land property along it lost its value. But now the scenario has completely changed and the expressway has given way to more than 100 building projects being undertaken by the leading real estate agents. Many builders like KPDK Buildtech Pvt. Ltd. has proudly associated itself with several of these upcoming projects that involve the making of townships, shopping malls, and many other buildings for commercial purposes. Newtown Square is a mixed use commercial development comprising of shopping mall, entertainment center and 5 Star Hotel (Best Western Plus Townsuites) which is less than 2.0 km away from the Dwarka Expressway, on the main Pataudi  Road Highway.
