Gurgaon has been exploding in growth but recently it has been exploding along the Pataudi Road corridor. There are many new commercial projects in Pataudi Road Gurgaon. Residential too for that matter.

It might be compared to Columbia, Maryland in the United States which was the first planned city in the United States, or perhaps Brazilia where the country of Brazil created a new capital city out of the jungle starting with nothing. Really Brazilia doesn’t count because it was entirely a government project.

Columbia, Maryland was the idea of real estate developer James Rouse. He bought up farmland and created a planned city in between Baltimore, MD and Washington DC. It is now one of the larger cities or towns in Maryland. He created a city center with theaters and shopping and cinemas and office space. Around this he built homes. Some were single family homes, some were condominiums and some were apartment buildings.

Gurgaon has been built by developers as well. One difference is that Columbia had one developer who created the plan for the whole city based on his vision of it. Gurgaon has been somewhat more haphazard with less planning but the developers seem to be working together and everything is functioning despite the rapid growth.

There are a number of new commercial projects in Pataudi Road Gurgaon and one is Newtown Square by KPDK Buildtech. Like Mr. Rouse, Mr. Gupta who runs KPDK has planned out a mixed-use project that includes a hotel, several levels of retail stores, cinema, swimming pool, food market, dining options, office space and hotel rooms.
